I hate going to the dentist. The very thought of it leaves me quaking in my boots. But since I am a reasonable guy, I go to the dentist twice a year just to get a check-up even if I don't have any issues with my teeth. I've had that fear since I was a little kid. My mother took me to my first appointment. I was not scared at all. I still remember that the dentist was running a little late and I was calmly waiting for him. After about 15 minutes, a dental assistant came out and told me to follow her. I was asked to take a seat in the exam chair. The assistant put a dental bib on me. A few minutes later the doctor probed my teeth. After the examination she found a few cavities. At the time I did not have the foggiest idea how painfull it would be to have a cavity drilled (I had not been sedated). At the end of the appointment the assistant had me rinse out with mouthwash. Ever since then I've had a lot of dental appointments and all that time I've had to overcome my fear. Moreover, it's not that easy to book a dentist appointment so quite often I've had to clear my schedule. I have to say, going to the dentist can be a pain, in the mouth and in the butt.
What do you think about going to the dentist? When did you have your first appointment and how was it?
Not that I want to tease you Andrey, because I understand your fear but last time
my dentist worked on my teeth, it was without anesthesia at all :') True story I promise!
The thing is I had decay in my front tooth that I didn't even know it's there and my dentist
discovered it in the yearly check up that I make every 2-3 years :) hehe
She told me that the anesthesia injection is going to hurt a lot, even more than working
on the front tooth, so we agreed that I let her work on it without any anesthesia at all.
She started drilling and it was bearable, even though I saw a cloud of dust in front of my
face coming from my front tooth, but I was so amazed that it didn't hurt severely as I thought
it would :')
