I live in a humid climate. For me, the humidity can be oppressive at times and it can feel much hotter than what is reported by the meteorological service.
I try to be under the shade from the later part of the morning to the later part of the afternoon. Wear very light clothing that do not cling to the body. For example, cotton which is a wicking fabric works great. Spandex, on the other hand, does not. Do avoid structures will metallic roofs. They can be furnaces.
If you can take along a portable electric fan, I believe it will come in handy. Sometimes, all you need is a breeze to cool you down.

I live in Rio de Janeiro, a pretty humid place, most people tell me, and this is what I think:
1. Shower a lot, everyday, more than once if you feel like your skin is getting sticky. You will sweat a lot more since the weather is hot, and the evaporation will happen more slowly, so you can get sweaty and stinky more quickly, that is why you shouldn't be shy to wash your face many times a day, too, even in public bathrooms.
2. Wear light clothes, for the obvious reason that it is hot outside and you will sweat a lot more if you don't.
3. Beware of wearing/carrying backpacks (and not for security reasons)! If you do, all your sweat around the back area will not evaporate and, actually, because of the heat cause by the friction between your backpack and your back you'll sweat even more. Beware!
Besides that, I can't think of anything. It is pretty comfortable to me, living in a hot humid place, and I don't feel I need to get out of my way to live comfortably every day (I don't have skin, hair etc issues).

So you do sweat if it is hot but unfortunately it doesn't cool your body, because sweat does not evaporate from the skin as in the dry climate. Keep a box of wet wipes with you to remove sweat and take cool shower as often as you can. For the first few days it is difficult to breathe, as the air is so thick and rich in water, but slowly you will accommodate) Drink a lot.
Besides cotton you can try silk and linen. They are both natural and cool your body a bit.
