If anyone is from Taiwan or has lived in Taiwan, do you have any advice for Americans wanting to move and live there for a year?

How is the cost of living? Are there any language schools that Americans can go to in order to learn the local language?, etc.

Or if anyone has lived abroad in general, what advice would you have for people who never lived abroad before?

I want to move there and teach English. But I never lived abroad before.
