What is the 'principles'

I read the famous book; The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People that is written by Stephan R. Covey, though what I read was a secondary book translated into Japanese.

Covey sees principles as external natural lows, while values remain internal and subjective. Covey proclaims that values govern people's behavior, but principles ultimately determine the consequences.

However, I didn't understand enough what the principles are.

I give 3 examples bellow.

•See all experiences are the chance to learn and contribute.

•My actions are not restricted by other people, environment, and situations. Decision maker is by myself.

•See money resources for achieving the purpose.

Please give me the idea if there are someone who read the book and have some ideas.

Of cause, I welcome any comments and questions even if you have not read the book.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you for your comments. That's the Covey described. I understood it but you know, it's vague and it's hard to practice.I hope someone make it clear.

I understand "principle" as a basic acquired knowledge that leads your actions; you do something that you think it's ok regarding your principles...

This still leaves room for confusion for me though

I read the book several years ago but.....Covey described principles as rules or laws that are permanent, unchanging, and universal in nature. He defines values as internal and subjective, and can change over time.
