This is arguing about something.  If something is not unheard of means that the thing, it possible.  For instance, you see me playing sport and tell someone.  Maybe I rarely play sport, but it is not the first time you have seen me play sport, so it is not unheard of.  

"1. They(Chelsea) play English game. My own game, you know. Kick it up the middle and hope for the best."

Chelsea plays football.  The game the David Hare enjoys.  Chelsea kick the ball up the middle and hope for the best (it implies they are not very good).

2.He is amused, knowing how perfectly the sentiment suits him personally.

"The person is happy because what has been said or implied relates well to him."

3. "Except you'd need the house next door as well to store all your clothes."

If you need the house next door for the clothes it implies the person has a lot of things.  Because they will have one house, plus the house beside it to  keep all the persons things (whether clothes or other things). 

4. It's just I've now got this place in the sun.It's at the water's edge.

"The person has a house or a spot they sit and enjoy the sun on their face/body.  The place or where the person sits is close to the ocean or river or pool."

5."you hear better things.I've developed this passion for listening".

The person enjoys listening as they learn from listening to conversations or gossip.
