I think you just practice and practice and practice! I use music, Duolingo app, italki, a couple of french partners to practice my french. Heck I even changed my phone into french for a while xD. If you want we can become email partners and write letters in french. Message me if you are interested. À bientôt:))

Although it's a little scary, the only way (in my opinion) to get better and learn is to actually speak the language. I can't tell you how nervous I was the first time I tried to speak French with a native. I could barely tell them what my name was and understood almost nothing when they spoke to me. Fortunately I am motivated to learn, so I just kept trying. Three months later and one or two lessons a week and I can now have a very basic conversation. I still make tons of mistakes and don't know a lot of vocabulary, but I'm making progress. More and more of my lesson time is in French with fewer explanations in English.

So, just go for it! Yes, you will be nervous (I still get a little nervous before every exchange). Yes, you will make lots of mistakes. However, if you keep trying it, you have no choice but to get better.

Good luck!

I think you could speak with someone. It might be hard to begin, but with time you'll be able to speak.

You can also read at loud, repeat some dialogues and then try to speak to yourself.

Good luck!
