Home remedy for a sore throat?

I have a brick in my throat.  Not really, but it feels like it.

What is the home remedy from where you live for a sore throat?

There are two methods I know and one has already been mentioned i.e. Gargle with lukewarm salty water but the second one is more effective. You need, Ginger, Basil leaves and honey.  Then chew a piece of ginger with 5-6 leaves of Basil with a spoon of honey and swallow the juice. It will definitely work if you manage to get Basil leaves in the place you live because you will get ginger and honey easily anywhere.

Thanks to everyone. The brick is still there, but smaller this morning.  I have been gargling with salt water - I cant leave to get the ingredients for some of your suggestions.  I will try chewing on ginger  - I have that and I like the idea...thanks Sudeep.  Aegis, I will presume that was a joke....I would like to see someone attempt it.

Hello

1)You can mix a raspberry jam or dagwood jam or any other sour jam with a hot black tea and drink.

2) Mix honey with harm milk and drink.

3) Or gargle with iodinol. But for iodinol you must to go to drugstore. It is very good. ( inexpencive and  helpful)

We usually use hot tea with honey and lemon and gargle with sodium bicarbonate. Get well Sven!
