Great story! Is it a traditional story?

In English, the word "governor" ends with the letters -or.

I'm sorry about this, but in English, words for "a person who does X" or "a thing that does X" sometimes end in -er, sometimes send in -or, and rarely--but sometimes--can be correctly spelled both ways.

-or examples:

governor, raptor, councillor, counselor, indicator, calculator

-er examples:

computer, typewriter, murderer, comptroller, maker, broadcaster, announcer, singer, songwriter

both spellings acceptable:

advisor/adviser
