What's the difference ?

(1) I learn a foreign language

(2) I learn foreign languages

(2) sounds like "I learn a number of languages at the same time."

1) it is singular, only ONE language 2) it is plural , MORE THAN ONE( 2 or more.. not necessarily in the same time , it can be in a long period of time, it is not specified) 3) still plural, more than one language but it is specified that you learn them IN THE SAME TIME

I hope I answered to your question!
