It is too soon to get discouraged. Don't give up! Keep trying different things on iTalki until you find what works well.
For example, there is a place on iTalki where you can ask questions about English (or another language). It seems like questions almost always get an answer, maybe because it only takes someone a minute or two to answer a question. (On the English iTalki, I click on "Community", then I click on "Answers" and then I see a red box in the corner that says, "Ask a Question"). People on iTalki do want to be helpful. Look -- this iTalki user from Turkey has asked 5761 questions on iTalki and he/she seems to always get answers! https://www.italki.com/user/4609344
I suggest you keep writing more Notebook entries. Maybe you won't get a correction or comment every time, but even if you get replies half of the time, that is still good. Try to write about something that you think would be interesting for someone to read. You could write about a movie that you saw, something that you love about your country, a favorite food, or a pet. It might be a good idea to write short entries at first...so that the person reading it can correct it without having to make lots and lots of corrections.
I see you have found the "Discussion" section. You can start an interesting or fun conversation there and enjoy reading what other people write.
There are many different ways to practice your new language on iTalki. I hope you will enjoy your time here :-)
Dude, I found myself in a similar amazement..
If you like we could practice conversation via Skype voice-call (UTF+4)
