If something can go wrong... it will go wrong!

Murphy's Law:   If something can go wrong... it will go wrong!

Other great examples of Murphy's Law are:

 -  When you try to prove to someone that your car or a machine won't work or is not working properly, it will.

 -  When you try to show someone that something on the computer is easy... it doesn't work.

 -  You can always reach a minor itch, but you can never reach a strong, very annoying itch.

 -  At any event, the people whose seats are farthest from the aisle arrive last.

 -  As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.

 -  If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers.

 -  Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

 -  If the shoe fits, it's ugly.

-  As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.

-  If you don't feel well, make an appointment to go to the doctor because by the time you get to the Doctor's office, you'll feel better.

 -  A closed mouth gathers no feet.
(based on the idiom "putting your foot in your mouth")

Giovane, it's not about pessimism. It's about collective observation.

Pessimism means always fearing that bad things will happen in the future. This fear is due to one's own personal, individual bad experiences that one has lived.

Murphy's Law means that human beings have collectively observed things that have actually and repeatedly happened in the past, and have remembered them and put their collective experiences together to draw a humorous yet true conclusion.

ahahhaha couldn't help laughing, it's a little pessimist though, I'd rather think that nothing is that bad that can't be worse. I'm afraid that may sound even more pessimist lol, what I mean is that if we can't do anything about it, we should stop whining and accept the fact that bad things happen sometime... and if we can, we should stop whining as well and do something about it.

When you think of your car is reliable, defects start to happen one by one.

When you hope you spend a nice weekend with your wife, the quarrel starts and brokes all plans.

You never leave work before 5 pm but one time you must go without permission of your boss. He never checks anybody but in this day he accidentally sees you and your reputation is diminished.

There were general situations which can happen. Now I recalled real once: I omitted lectures during my secondary school hardly ever, however, one day I decided to leave the school without permission and go to another city as I knew that my teacher won't be present. I wondered without a goal and in one moment I saw as I go straight ahead, my teacher. I turned back and disappeared into the crowd of people.

I was amazed how it was possible to meet somebody in another big city in the same place and time. All people I would be happy to meet in spite of this one teacher. But I met just her. It was pure Murphy's Law.

Sergey...

Your understanding is correct.

When my car is making a noise, when my computer won't boot up, when the television won't show a channel, AND when I take the car to the mechanic, or take the computer to a technician, or have someone come to my house to fix the TV... the noise in the car will disappear before the mechanic can hear it, the computer will boot up when I turn it on, and the TV will work fine when I show the repairman that it doesn't work... :)   Murphy's Law  :)

@Giovane
My respect to you, Giovane.
@Grzegorz
Amazing story, Grzegorz. It reminds me the same one from my school years:)
@Murphy:)))
It's easy to notice something bad around. Try notice something good. And, finally, DO something good around, then you, probably, will haven't time to focus on bad!
