Hi! I have a question.
I was wondering if there was any scheduled group study session available here. Like for example, at JST 7:00PM, there would be a group chatroom on Skype (or on whatever platform) where there will be language learners and probably some natives as well. I saw italki's terms and conditions (for teachers and tutors) where they're not supposed to give out free lessons, so I first thought this idea I have wouldn't even be possible. But then again, if the chat group only consisted of regular accounts, otherwise known as "language partners," then maybe it could be valid?
Then I also thought, if there will even be a group study session:
"What's there to learn on the group chat?"
"Who's going to teach or tell more about what to learn?"
"Where's the direction this session is going?"
...and many more.
So what if people who're interested in group studies would talk to each other and organize a group? And if there're natives who wants to help, they could join too. An ideal time where everyone's free can be planned, and so with the lesson/topic to be discussed about.
I thought of this because of these reasons:
-More social interaction while studying might improve the odds of learning more and the increase the motivation or interest to learn.
-A fixed schedule will make the learner feel mandated to study, possibly improving his consistency in learning.
-Easier way to find friends/get to know with other people.
I don't know... this concept seems hard to do. Even I'm not sure if I want to attend this kind of concept. I was just curious if something like this existed so that I would try to consider it in the future, if this existed. Well, if this didn't exist then most likely this didn't exist because it's just hard to do. But if this isn't violating any terms and condition and can be doable, would there be anyone interested to try?
What are your thoughts on these?
This is something I would be interested in as well.
