What is the difference between a PR campaign and a PR plan? I need to decide whether to include a PR campaign or a PR plan in my thesis apart from the theoretical part. I intend to write about PR in automotive industry, how it has evolved over time and come up with a proposal for an automotive car launch. What would you recommend?

It's hard to say but it sounds like you need both.

Hi Jason! Yes, I agree with you. However, in order to highlight my proposal for an automotive car launch, I would come up with a PR plan  rather than PR campaign for the  thesis. What do you think?

Hi Laura,

My understanding is that a PR campaign is a discrete set of activities that are agreed upon in advance and serve a specific, limited PR goal.  A PR plan, on the other hand, is an organization's general communication strategy that sets out a framework for all PR activities over a period of something like 3-5 years (highly dependent on circumstances).
