Do you think slowing down the Internet would increase or decrease stress?

I think it would first increase, because people expect it to be faster. Then it would decrease, because of acceptance and finding some better things to do.

Definitely increase... I'd get even more impatient. Italki already loads very slowly. If it loads any slower, I'm out of here.

Slowing down the internet would definitely increase stress. Many people are now using the internet for school work and their jobs. Imagine trying to do research for a project with the internet speed being unbearably slow.

You asked a good question.

You're referring to the amount of time people spend on the internet - not the speed of the internet.

I come from a generation where we did not have smartphones, the internet or even personal computers.
Life was much simpler then.
The pace of life was much slower (and less stressful and more enjoyable).

If everyone reduced the amount of time they spent on the internet (by 25-50%) everyone would be happier and less stressed.

And that's my opinion... :)

I'm worried that with the fast Internet people always want to entertain themselves. open facebook, write a message, listen to music, and when we lose the Internet we feel discomfort (like dependence, and the faster the internet, the stronger the dependence)
