Rich or wealthy Hallo !!! What's the difference between the words Rich and wealthy ? Thanks a lot !!

Some business coaches and people define rich as having plenty of money, but having to work for it (like a job). Wealthy, on the other hand, is defined as having plenty of money and having your money work for you (stock market investments, real estate, other businesses that you don't have to run).

I agree with Deborah but I prefer to use rich if someone is less wealthy than someone else. 

Food can be rich in flavour. Such as food made with cream. 

You can be both wealthy and rich in terms of money and possessions. 

Another nice synonym is affluent :)

But they can also mean the same thing.  A person that is rich can also be a person that is wealthy.  The two words can be synonyms.

U can be rich, but not wealthy.....  rich is about amount, wealth is about quality

Rich is sometimes used to describe sweet food that is high in calories but wealthy is not.
