Yes, I love GoT and can't wait to see the final season because I want to know how it ends! :)

It’s a very generational thing. Yes, young people love it for some reason. As someone older, I don’t watch it and I found it incredibly boring when I once did and had to turn it off.  It reminds me of a strange fantasy story set in mythical times and in a mythical place. it’s a modern genre of fiction I find unappealing.. 

One ther minor critique. From real history we learn about real people and the human condition and human mind. These are valuable lessons. So, history is a fascinating exercise of the mind that has value to it. Game of Thrones is just pure fantasy, an escape from reality, from which there is no lesson to be learned and from which there is no value to be derived of any significance. Of course, if people love it, they are welcome to it. I’m just saying real life is much more interesting on its own without needing a literary escape from reality. 

It’s just my opinion, which is not any better than another else’s of course, (it really is just is a matter of taste), but, we have an expression in English, „Truth is stranger than fiction.“ For me anyway, that has always rung true, and has meant it is much much more interesting. So, my tastes are for real history, not fantasyland invented stories mascarading as history in an ancient setting, make-believe little dramas set in places that never existed, probably could never have existed, with characters who never existed. The story is just an escape from reality that I find exceedingly boring, somewhat akin to playing online video games.
