Do you prefer to exchange language and chat with people from your gender or the opposite gender?

I think it's indifference.
We are here to learn a new language or teach a language. This isn't a site for dating.
And a lot of users have name that I don't know if is a female name or a male name and they don't use photo on profile or sometimes they use photos of landscape, animals, etc... So sometime I don't know whom I'm talking to.

I agree with you, but we mad a WhatsApp group for people who met at Italki, and we had some kind of such problems
