Does "The shape of water" deserve Oscar?
Hi guys. Do you whatch the Oscar ceremony? The film "The shape of water" got Oscar. How do you think if this film is so good to have an Oscar?
In my opinion "The shape of water" is a simlple film without a deep meaning. To give an Oscar to this film means to put an equal sing between "Schindler's list" and "The shape of water". I think Steven Spielberg should be offended.

So, Donald Trump was right to say that it was the most underated Oscar in the history of Cinema.
Probably Trump was right, because Cinema professionals focalize more in criticizing him and in babbling unintelligible speeches on gender equality than making powerful movies.

Well, i think the shape of water is more creative than the other movies. Provoques many feelings and finally who decided are the experts aren't they?

Well, if you start comparing everything with Schlinder's list... Then every winner should be picked based on how heavy the subject was. It's not a necessarily bad attitude, in fact I used it for documentaries, my pick was The last men in Aleppo for the same reason. for best movie I went with the one who would be remembered for a long time, so I went with Get Out. Dunkirk was nice but the parallel (out of phase) timelines were just weird.

Probably the standard was lower than others years, so maybe this film was better than the other four. I saw that movie and ...mmm nothing special.

Fantasy, of course, I didn't forget about it but it doesn't mean that if the film is fantasy it should not has any meaning.
And why I can't compare these films when the chose was done being based on this comparing? At leasr the most important thing is the meaning the idea what the film shares.
