Someone help me with my pronunciation english please Hi everyone! I need someone who can help with my english, a teacher or someone speaks verry well. I know a litle english and i can understand but i can't speak well. i want to speak fluently for go the travels and speak with more people. In my school apresentations my teacher always tell me that i don't hava a good pronunciation.

If somebody can help me I appreciate,

Hi Valeria,

Phil’s suggestion is a good one. I noticed you posted this under American Sign Language (sinais pra a comunidade surda) which is also in your profile. That’s bound to lead to some misunderstandings :-). Actually, I was wondering how you can improve your pronunciation in ASL :-)?

If you record yourself and post the link as a discussion, you’re certain to receive a lot of help from the community.

You may want to use “The North Wind and the Sun” — it’s familiar to many people, phonologists are used to using it, so we can spend less time guessing at what you’re saying, and more time analyzing the pronunciation.

Identify the sounds you have trouble with.  Practice saying them out loud, and in sentences.  Recording them is a good idea, as is watching your mouth in a mirror or your cellular, while you speak.

For the sounds you have trouble with, try tongue twisters:  trabalenguas.

Find an English speaker you admire, and copy what they say.

Finally, don't worry if your pronunciation is not perfect.  The important thing is to obtain fluency.
