Hi Nat! "Bedrijf", "zaak" and "werk" can all be used to indicate the place where you work.
"Bedrijf" works the same as "company" in English.
- Ik werk al 15 jaren bij hetzelfde bedrijf. (I've been working for 15 years at the same company)
You can use "Werk" the same as "work" in English.
- Ik moet om 8 uur op mijn werk zijn. (I have to be at work at 8 o'clock) (noun)
- Ik werk het liefst in the ochtend. (I prefer to work in the morning) (verb)
When I think about the word "zaak", I mostly think about companies where they do manual work, like a car repair shop. My father repairs cars and used to always refer to his place of work as "de zaak".
"Baan" is the same as "job" in English.
- Ik heb een baan nodig! (I need a job!)
