What is the biggest national celebration in your country?

Yesterday, I posted a video on Italki's facebook page about St Patrick's Day, which is Ireland's national celebration.

So, now it's your turn: what is the biggest national celebration in your country?

Yes, San Juan is also celebrated but only on certain locations (the biggest ones are in Valencia and the Balear islands, I believe).

Hi! I'm Spanish so, as you may know, there are too many to pick one.

If you mean local celebrations, I'd say San Fermines in Navarre, 7th July. They are widely famous all over the world (specially after Hemingway).

If you pick a national one, our biggest day it's the 12th October (día de la Hispanidad) but I wouldn't call it a "party". Also, there's some controversy due to the violence displayed by Spanish people with native Americans.

Another big day it's the Constitution day (6th December) but again not a "party" haha.

It's difficult to find a day when the whole country celebrates together. I'd rather go for local festivities.

@Conor: Thank you. Even though you don't celebrate Nowruz, but I wish all the best for you and your family.

@Olzhas: That's interesting. We get 14 days off for Nowruz. xD :D
