         Simply it means that somebody wants to stay with you, to support and to defend you.



Note - in what sense it was spoken that also depend .

The „sometimes“ seems to be out of place and is a bit odd, not grammatically but it what the person means by it. Why only sometimes? The rest is the line out of an old song from the 80s. I don’t get it. The person wants to be with you sometimes, but not always?  What? Why?
