Do you celebrate April's Fool's Day with your friends? Can you tell us about your special jokes?
It's always a good idea to be skeptical about what you read on the Internet, but on April 1st that's especially true.
Why do we play pranks on each other on April 1st?
I don't like to fool anyone but other do with me
We don't celebrate April Fool's Day in Iran but we have a similar tradition and we spread hoaxes and lies on the 13th day of the Aries constellation (which is also the 13th day of the Iranian calendar and it is tomorrow).
@Mrs Tad I've heard you like stories. So, here's a story about a famous April Fool joke for you:
About 10 years ago, a famous Iranian newspaper spread the lie that Milad Tower in Tehran was tilting and people living in nearby areas should evacuate their homes as soon as possible before it falls down on them. The news became viral soon and it caused mass hysteria and huge criticism directed at Tehran Municipality and the Iranian regime that they could not even properly construct a concrete tower. Even though soon after its release it was claimed to be a hoax because it had been released on the 13th day of the Iranian new year and even the journalist himself apologized for releasing it and he said he didn't know that his fake news would be taken so seriously but you can still find people who say that Milad Tower is tilting. :D
Yet I have not pranked anyone, also I am not pranked today, yet!
Once we pranked our accoutant (and how it turned out the prank touched our boss). They were out of office on the last April 1, and we called to the accountant and said to her that somebody left 10000$ in the office. Few minutes later our boss was calling back. He said to hide the money, cause it might be a scam. We kept calm, and said, just "Okay!"
It was very funny to see their faces, when they were back to the office at the night of the day, asking "Where is the money?"
