One word greetings in private messages

Hey there, have you ever received ONE WORD GREETINGS from anyone through private messages here in Italki???

I don't know if it's a coincidence, but, lately a bunch of people started sending me one word greetings and I believe that they hope that this would start a conversation... The most famous are Hi and Hello. I never replied them but I think to myself if they really expect any reply from that...

Anyway, I want to know:

1- If anyone received a "one word greetings message" with a word besides Hi or Hello...

2 - What suggestions can we share with those (annoying) pure hearted people who truly believe that it is a good way to start changing messages with a complete stranger person...

You know Jerry you could have helped her out.  At least when my fiancee sent it to me it would have been corrected.

These kind of one word greeting messages don't annoy me much rather than rude or unexpected messages...

Tiago, I keep my profile empty for a reason:)

I would love to be able to help to anyone who ask me for help. If I try to be popular and succeed... I'll get mad:) Or I'll have to be less polite. I don't want to get corrupted. Currenly not many peopel ask me for help, so I can can be glad each time it happens. That's just beautiful. Let's say: I'd rather live as a hermit on a mountain lost in the forest, but keep my door open then the opposite.

What I referred to above is just shy Chinese students who came for English and were taught that a polite conversation starts from 'hi!'.
And well, if I know that this particular girl simply has no idea what to write next... My 'hi' means: I do not help.

There are also people who just let you know who they are this way. Then "hi" means "I'm here for chatting. What about you?"
