I have read a post from an American in Washington DC that they now have a cherry blossom festival there. As some of you might know, Japan is famous for cherry blossoms and the tradition to have a picnic-like party outside under cherry trees every year around this time. The cherry trees in Washington DC was presented more than 100 years ago. And how they enjoy their own cherry blossoms there.
In Vienna, Austria where I live now, 1000 cherry trees were presented by Japanese government about 15 years ago. But there is still no "Hanami" act as it is very common in Washington DC. Maybe the trees are yet too short and do not look so gorgeous.
If you know some places in your region where you have some cherry blossom festivals, I would like to know. Thank you in advance.
