Are you a complainer or an action taker? Most people want results now. At the gym, the first thing people ask the personal trainer is “How long does it take to get a six-pack?”. When it comes to learning languages, the question is “when am I going to be fluent?”. Entrepreneurs ask themselves "When am I going to start making money?". Those who are learning how to play an instrument ask their music teachers “How long does it typically take until you can play your first piano song?" These questions have no answers. What would be different if I had the answer? Would you work harder to achieve your goal? Would you have slowed down if you knew that you would succeed anyway? The unknown is there for us to conquer not to fear. There are no guarantees in life. I have seen a lot of people complaining here. They say things such as “I am not motivated to keep studying”, “I am stuck, I am not learning anymore”, “Why is it so hard to learn a language”. Overnight success is a myth. Complaining is just big a waste of time. You waste your time complaining while somebody else is studying. Patience leads to success, so be patient. Anything worthwhile takes time to grow and mature.
