Your Language Learning Process I'm just wondering about your process when learning another language, and what you focus most on. What's your favourite exercise to improve? What do you do if you feel like you've reached a plateau? How do you keep motivated? Do you practice for a set amount of time each day?

I'm learning English. But, in addition to difficulty in learning other languages, i have to keep me constant at studying. I study one hours a day. I know that is litle, but I also need to study other things and to work.

I am trying to improve all of my English skills. Everyday I learn grammar from my grammar book, watch a TV serial in English or read a book. I have a little problem with speaking because it's hard to find some english speakers that would help me to improve it. However, I am focusing on my other skills and I hope, someday I'll be able to pass the IELTS with flying colours!

@Sam Krain I agree, one of the reasons I started learning it was to read an austrian poet, Georg Trakl, so German always reminds me something poetic

 @Vlady I've never thought of texting as a viable language learning technique before. Interesting...

@Scarlett I think it's a shame that so many people think of German as a harsh sounding language, when I think it sounds really nice.

I mainly focus on listening and reading.

My favourite exercise to improve is to use some native material, for example, listen a song along the lyrics and learn new vocabulary or just expose myself to the langauge.

I believe what motivates me to keep learning German is just the songs, books, movies and series I like that are in German (same with French) and purely passion, I just love how it sounds. 

I don't practice for a set amount of time, some days I don't even practice. English I practice anyway 'cause there's a lot of stuff in English about the things I'm studying but I didn't reach the level to learn about programming languages in German
