Do you believe in superstitions? This issue has been in my mind since a week. It was a hot topic at my work place amongest my colleagues. They claimed that, in their city, they believe that you shouldn't give perfumes as a present because you will lose the person that you gave him/her that present, or your relationship with that person will get bad.
In fact, I don't believe in such beliefs and this conversation reminded me with some beliefs that English people believe in,the broken mirror and  the black cat.
I also, remembered a film that I have recently seen about the Irish people who have some strange beliefs.

I think you meant "Are you superstitious?", because everyone knows that superstitions exist.

No, I'm not superstitious.

I don't. I must admit, although I don't believe in those things, I try to avoid them.

Not really superstitions, but if you give a spoon then you might be "stirring" the conversation while soap suggests the recipient needs a wash.

Ladders, black cats, mirrors etc are for the movies

That would be so useful! Want to get rid of somebody? Just give them perfume - don't over-do it, cheap will do. That would be great. But sadly, to lose a person, usually you have to put some real work into it.

I bought 5 perfumes for 5 different people from Makkah as a souvenir/gift. It's been almost 2 and a half months since i gifted them the perfumes. Still on good terms with all 5 of them. If superstitions are true, they sure do take a while to kick in.
