Why the Beatles was so popular? To be honest, I am a great fan of the Beatles . The song "Here comes the Sun" is one of my favourite, even though we are a different generations with the Beatles. In the past my uncle was searching all these songs and we had a phonograph for these plates. I have to admit that it had  more romantic or magic..than just listening on YouTube. The songs are so simple, the language and lyrics are so understanable and have a meaning. I saw how people loved them.
What do you think? What's your favourite song and..why the songs are so popular even now?
What's your opinion on the music in nowadays?

When I listened to The Long Winding Road for the first time, I was 10 years old. I didn't know English at all but somehow I felt this song had an important message. I learned the English lyrics when I was a senior high school student. I realised the meaning of it after I became 40 years old. It is authentic message about life.

Good topic always, Sarah. Thank you so much!

I like Blackbird. It's a light, gentle one. At school, Yellow Submarine is a timeless classic and there is a subversive version: we all live in a fascist regime...

The fact that my favorite Beatles song "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" was:

-Made without their trademark harmonization or outside instrumentation
-Written by the Beatle who wrote the least of their music
-Sung by the Beatle who sang the least of their songs
-and probably played in the recording studio by a non Beatle (Eric Clapton)

Tells me that I must not be much of a real Beatles Fan :-)

I listened to Here Comes the Sun just now. I knew the song before of course. The lyrics are simple and positive which I love. It's a reply to The Long And Winding Road. This is The Beatles.
