I guess there must be a Portuguese term that accord to insomnia but so far as I know, it is an English term usually used by clinicians in the clinic or in the hospital so probably clinicians working in the medical institute of your country can help with a corresponding word in Portuguese .

According to the Cambridge dictionary, "insomnia" means "the problem of not being able to sleep", so yes, it has the same meaning of in Portuguese. What u can ask natives of English is if there is another word that's more common to describe that, than "insomnia"
