It is legal in Brazil and I think it's just fair since they pay taxes like anyone else and marriage is not necessarily religious. Even religious people marry twice because the civil one is the one that will give what both parts really want, the civil rights! Anyone deserves them.

It's not legal in my country and I think that most people here wouldn't like to call it 'a marriage', because we are rather traditionalists. But I think they should have the possibility of registering their relationships to obtain the privileges granted to married couples by law. Of course they can already do it by making a lot of agreements, writing their will in case of death and so on. But it would be easier if it all worked 'automatically' like it does to married couples. The adoption is always a delicate topic and not so easy, even for heterosexual couples. I think it should be facilitated in the situations when the child is the biological child of one of the partners. These things happen and it would be fair to make the existing state of things legal.

Legal by US Constitutional decision since 2015 in entire country. Laws prohibiting it are illegal, unenforceable as unconstitutional. legal in many States before.

Where I live, there is no real “marriage” but a kind of contract that has similar results. A same sex couple has the analogous privileges regarding heritage and pension for the survivor as have heterosexual couples, if one of the partners passes away.

There is now a discussion about the possibility of adoption. I do not know the current status. The attitude of the society has changed towards homosexuality, it has become more tolerant and accepting. Young teenagers who discover their sexual orientation are less ashamed and dare to speak up openly.

I think that those obsessed by the fear of homosexuality have some issues about their own sexual identity.
