I love reading literature books. This is what I like to do most. Once I read a book about literature, I begin looking for another so that I can improve my knowledge on it. And you? Do you like reading books? If yes, what kind of books do you like? Can you share a suggestion of books or authors that you most like with me?

I enjoy biographies. Some of them are really well written and even if the person has led an uneventful life, it still has a charm: Laurie Lee -- A London Girl of the 1880s -- Lark Rise to Candleford -- My Life with the Microbes --Some others have led a hard life and it is a journey reading it: Papillon by Henri Charriere (in English), -- I Phoolan, Devi, -- Goodbye to All That by Graves --- will not fail to move.

Pulp fiction is also good. Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs by Harris. Psycho by Bloch. Everything by George McDonald Fraser (of Flashman fame). Everything by Rafael Sabatini. (maybe they are more to a man's taste, though?). Pigeon Wars by Neate.

Is literature as good as pulp fiction? Who knows? Generally I think it is slightly worse, so I won't mention any of those.

I do like reading books, and my tastes are quite bizarre. I like formulaic detective fiction, grand epics, delicate lyric poetry, and charming fairy tales. I recommend La chanson de Roland, the lais of Marie de France, and the fairy tales of Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy. As far as detective fiction goes, I don't deviate from Agatha Christie, whose stories I read as a teenager, and to which I return for their familiarity.
