American English textbooks

Hi everyone!

Since I started learning English I did it by focusing on British English, so I've been studying with the Cambridge textbooks (which I highly recommend, by the way). Now, I'd like to start focusing more on American English. Do you know a good textbook I can study for this purpose? It would be fantastic if someone knew  about a good textbook which contains all differences between American and British English, as well as the most common slang/expressions used by Americans :)

Thank you!

Thank you, @Amir and @Michael for your coments. I'll start with that appendix of Murphy's book.

For a start, there is an appendix in the back of Murphy's "English Grammar in Use" (both N American and general editions) that sets out the standard variations in grammar preferences and common vocabulary differences. I've discussed it with an American teacher and we both agree that the explanations are correct. It's a good reference.

Victor, I don't know whether exist such types of books or not. I know that in "Grammar in use" (which is a cambridge book) there are the differences between  american English and british english in GRAMMAR. If you want to learn slang in american English ( I do not recommend you do that),  I should recommend you to watch american TV-shows, TV-serials and films, which have a lot of slangs and phrasal verbs. I wish you good luck!
