Did your beliefs and attitude towards life change after you turned 40?

 Some believe that people get mentally mature at the age of 40. Is that true about you? Did you start to think differently after that age?

I would like to hear about your experiences.

I had the same beliefs after I've turned 40, but I feel that my attitude towards life has changed.

I feel more relaxed and I'm enjoying more things in my life. In my 30s, I felt as if I was running,

not being able to accomplish what I want or wish to do in life, and I had many fears.

I've many great things that I'm thankful for associated with my 40s, which I didn't expect at all.

You should ask how your life changes after 60, when the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) starts sending you mail for discounts on burial plots and headstones.

As I feel in my almost fifty, many things which interested younger people became unnecessary for me. For example, now I don't need
 to impress somebody;
 to lie, in order to seem better than I am;
to envy
to fear not to be understandable etc.
It came to me gradually, and yes, perhaps it began after 40:)

@Starry

Thanks. No one else here appreciates me or my sense of humor!

Great to hear you're enjoying your life, Mumtaz.  But you're 17.5, aren't you? ;)

''In my 30s, I felt as if I was running''

That's exactly what I'm doing now haha
