E-book or traditional form of reading? Hi. What form of reading you prefer E-book or in paper form and why? I am also curious how many books more or less could you read in a month?

I prefer traditional way , I like to touch the paper and mark with pencil what I like ,I think if you really treat the book as a friend you would like to keep it close to you .

@Bluebottle and @ AHTOH thank you for the hints. Well I leave it to others. Surely it isn’t that difficult. But I am too lazy to try.

The traditional way of reading is often better to our eyes, gives the idea of how much of the book have we read, easy bookmarking and searching in a natural way. I know it all is possible in hardware and software e-book readers, and that the searching by keywords or phrases is often more efficient, but I mean we see the material we read and feel like having control over it. Reading e-books feels like looking through the small window at the tiny fragment of something the size of which is unknown.  Maybe it's too complicated to me to express this feeling, but I find old type books more natural.
Unfortunately I have no fixed reading time in my timetable, so I read small portions whenever I have a few minutes (During last months I rather read the Italki discussions than e-books but it wasn't always like that).So the only solution to  me is to read e-books on my phone, because it would be sometimes difficult to take the book or even e-reader device with me everywhere.  Unfortunately this solution is possibly the worst one for my eyes.

Thanks for these answers.

@Pasha

In the 21st century, we can use various electronic forms and read books in this way. But I dont think that the use of paper for something useful, for example make rich our knowledge is a waste of paper. Most of the older generation I know chooses the traditional way of reading.

Aliph, bluebottle

Polaris Viewer 4.1 on Galaxy S2 is pretty good in trying to rebuild text from pdf-files to screen size.

But I offen transform pdf to plain text by means of pdftotext-utility for Linux, assuming that tables, equations will be garbled and images will be thrown. Further I can wrap the text into epub-file through sigil, and if I would be not so lazy, I will put the images from pdf to respective pages in epub.
