Was my friend request sent? Daily request limit

When I tried to send a friend request I received a "you reached your daily limit" message upon pressing send.

Does that mean the request itself was not sent as it exceeds the limit, or that I will not be able to send any additional ones during that day?

If you go to your friends list, you should see "sent requests." I have no idea if it works, as I haven't sent any requests since they changed the site interface a couple of years ago.

It means you can't send any more friend requests today and you have to wait until tomorrow to send more.

Unfortunately neither on the desktop nor on the phone version there seem to be any sent requests visible.
