Did you talk to an Artificial (possible lack of) Intelligence? We all know these (not so) funny phone answering systems: 'If you want to ... press 1. If you ...', and so on. Unfortunately we have to use them when we want to contact our bank, phone operator, medical center, and many more institutions. Hopefully they give us an option to press '0' and listen to music for about 30 minutes, to be able to contact a human being eventually.
But what about the situations when a company contacts us for marketing purposes and we hear a robotic voice which insists to have 'a conversation' with us?

During the last month many companies contact us to obtain a confirmation of agreement. Due to some recent changes in the European law, they want us to agree to being contacted by them, their business partners, the partners of their partners, and so on... for marketing purposes.
Today I received 3 robotic calls. First two I disconnected after hearing the robot. The third one I tried to listen to... but after hearing very fast and unclear information about the things I was supposed to agree, I was forced to answer 'Yes' or 'No'. I tried to say 'Repeat please' and 'Contact operator' but all attempts ended with 'I don't understand your answer.'

Did you experience something similar? Are we so unimportant customers that they don't even think about leaving the possibility of talking to human being?

Many businesses and law firms will make lots of many from the new legalisation they will frighten business into paying for their services to avoid being penalised. The new law will not stop it from happening everybody will still receive unwanted emails.

Thank You John. I think so. Whenever the new law is being introduced, a lot of new companies appear. They offer education events, audits, legal advice and so on. And our data are freely distributed like they were before.
