I do believe in Male-Female friendships, as long as both parties are completely open and honest with each other about their intentions from the start.  Honestly is very important in these relationships!  Feelings can potentially develop over time, so an ongoing honest dialogue in this area should not be compromised.  We generally do not like to be completely honest because we are afraid of hurting the other persons feelings, but a little hurt now can save major pains later...for both people.

Of course they're possible, but even if boundaries are established early on, people can still catch feelings.

I mean, it is may be 1000th time when I see this question here, but normally it is not Germans who ask it:))))

As for "more freinds of ... gender", I think more or less in equal proportion. I have no idea honestly. By "friends" i mean 'close friends', a few, but I'm not uin the mood to count them now.

Do you believe in... music? In any event you can jus sing a song and there is music.
So you are free to have male friends if you want.

Human relationships and human feelings to each other is soemthing real, mysterious, spiritual and very diverse. Honestly, my feelings to each person and my relations with each person are something unique. When I love someone 'love' stands for this person. My feeling is identical to the object to some extent:)

But notions like 'friendship' - I'm not sure they describe 'reality'. They might be inventions, made to 'approximate it' (a spectre of relationships classified this way) or they might be 'art': something new, a new structure added to reality of feelings. Whole life of ours might be 'art'. I'm into this art:)

I the question is "would opposite gender freinds necessarily have sex", the answer is no, they are not obliged to do that if they don't feel like.
