There is a saying "Cast no dirt into the well that gives you water."
It is important to make your life as clean as you can. Trying to make peace with all the people around you. Thank people who were nice, apologize to people that you had arguments with, and forgive people that were unkind to you.
Repent to God, to get prepared for the afterlife. I think doing things like that is very important too.
