You are so blonde. Do you consider it to be derogatory or complimentory? Both genders:)

Hello:)

I’d love to be Barbie sometimes but there is no way for me. In general, I’m rather soft and certainly “behind the man” in my private life, though I can’t be fully obidient and not thoughtful or provoking (often).

So, personally, I would consider “you are so blonde” as a joke or offense depending on the situation.

My questions are:

1. Ladies, what is this statement   for you? A Joke, fun, compliment?

2. Gentlemen, when do you say this? Is it a joke, provocation or truly belief or prejudice?

Thank you

Oh, one more thing:)

Interestingly, I woke up with the thoughts about Hedy Lamer

https://massivesci.com/articles/hedy-lamarr-inventor-world-war-movie-star-frequency/

She used to be the Hollywood movie star and incredibly beautiful woman invented the frequent-hopping or secret communication system between ships, her invention faced sceptitism only because she was a woman and an actress. Briefly, she suggested that while transferring information through radiosignals, officers need to change frequencies periodically in order to escape being trapped by enemies. Some years later, her invention became a base for GSM, Bluetooth and Wi-fi.

There are a few places in the world that I am sure I would not survive long.  Two come to mind very quickly - a corporate board room, and the Streets of San Francisco.

Office politics and political correctness make me gag.

I’ve heard men called blond, not “blondes” as much, but I have heard it before. You sure wouldn’t want to call a woman a “dumb blonde” in the San Francisco Bay Area where I live. You’d have the socialist, left wing radical organization BAMN (By All Means Necessary) probably bam you over the head or pepper spray you. Like when a tiny minority group of Young Republicans at the University of California, Berkeley wanted to host a pro-Republican speaker last year to give a speech on campus, BAMN along with their friends at ANTIFA almost tore the city to pieces rioting in the streets. The speaker had to run for safety and never got to speak. BAMN proudly says they “shut him down.” Yep, they sure did.

Hmmmm I don't see Jerry here.  If he was here that would mean he had more than one account, which would probably get both accounts banned.

I think the phrase is mostly an offense, usually used to describe people behind their back.  I think it is based in jealousy, as blonde is a rarer hair color and therefore seems to be more in demand.

Friends can call each other a  'dumb blonde' or that they had a 'blonde moment'.  There are a lot of dumb blonde jokes, joke books etc...  They are always about women.  You could say a man had blonde hair, but you would not generally call a man a blonde.

Jerry, you are such a gentleman. Always.  You are thoughtful. Always. You understand very subtle issues.

And <3 :)))
