What English language material to buy in the USA?

Hi!

I'm going to go to the United States this summer and because of the Cambridge exam that I will be taking by the end of this year, I thought I should definitely buy some English language learning material. Does anyone have some advice on what to buy?

Cheers,
Lars

I have taken CPE a couple of months ago, so I would advise the textbook series "Upstream", as it is created specifically for this exam. Also, try to watch tutorials on Youtube on how to take the oral part correctly. There are special books from Cambridge University press that contain past papers. Although, I don't really see the need to buy them, as you can find most of them online for free :D

And I don't even know if you can find those in the States, as they usually don't accept the results of Cambridge exams there and always ask to take TOEFL.

Hi!  I personally think you should simply find reading material that you would normally enjoy in your own language, but buy it in English instead.  Additionally, it's always beneficial to read about the country you are visiting...so perhaps look into some great travel magazines or books about the United States.  The more you enjoy the topic, the more of the English language you will absorb.  Hope this helps! :)
