dialect is the first Hi everyone, i'm from Indonesia and i need your opinions.

As we know that English is the most important language in the world, so we have to have skill like an  English native.

Before i'm trying my self to learn English, someone said to me that: you have to more often hear English dialect by watching movies or some conversations, cause when your dialect is perfect you will be easy to learn English.

So is that true?

yap boy,

"dialect" is a variety of a language. E.g. when people in the North of your country speak differently than people in the South of your country, but both can understand each other - you may call that "Northern" and "Southern" dialect.

Yes, ideally you should know both written/literary langauge and spoken/colloquial/vernacular language.
Because native speakers use both.

I do not know which one is 'easier':)))

I'm currently learning Korean right now. The thing that helps me out is hearing Koreans words and how the tones sound like. I currently can't speak sentences, but when I say a word, my Korean friends are surprised that I can speak it in their tone. If you can, go online and try to learn to American shows, to at least hear how words are said

There are a number of various dialects (and slang phrases) in different parts of the United States. Believe me, we do not all say "Y'all."

Yes... but only movies and tv shows with good english because americans they cut all the words for example: how y'all doing? And you will heard yall instead of "you all" so it's pretty hard to understand somethis study contractions
