How to understand Spanish when I read it (en voz alta) out loud ?
Recently, I bought some books written in Spanish. I can read some of the sentences fluently and I know what they mean in English.

The problem I am having is that when I try to read the sentences I can READ fluently out-loud I cannot understand it or have time to think what it means or process it. Only when I read it to myself I understand how to translate it in English and have it make sense. But when I try to read it out loud I am focused on saying the next word and don't have time to think about the last word I said. I have a problem reaching spoken fluency.

I will accept any and all tips you can offer on how to understand Spanish better. Please let me know what you think. Thank-you.

Read slowly, and excuse me for saying something obvious: you need practice and patience.

Repeat the sentence several times, but your brain needs time to get accustomed to understanding.

Good luck!

For me to listen music, you should listen to music in Spanish to be more fluent. :)

I suffered the same when I started to watch movies in English subtitled in English. Sometimes, I had to stop the player to read and translate carefully, because I was close to get lost. Finally, I managed to not translate. The idea is to read something in the foreign language, and understand it without translation. I had to practice, even in my own language, to be able to read a text not verbalizing it into my mind.
