hi, everyone, good day

could you help me?

what does this sentence mean?

Scientists also preoject that increasing cool-weather rain and snow in the winter habitat for eastern migratory North Amnterican monarch butterflies will become inadequate for the species' survival.

I'm not sure what will become inadequate.

thank you in advance.

Hello Gloria!

This sentence speaks of the relation between monarch butterflies and the weather conditions they need to survive. Basically, it says that (according to scientists) because we have more rain and snow in the east, which is where the monarch butterflies migrate during the winter, the survival of the monarch butterflies is in danger. In other words, monarch butterflies are in need of warmer conditions to survive.

It is the weather conditions that may become inadequate, meaning the conditions may not be ideal for the survival of the monarch butterflies.

I hope I have helped!
