Does really sleeping matter a lot?

I used to sleep every day less than 7 hours. I wonder, if this may influence on my health in prospective. Although, It's extremely hard to wake up early everyday without sleeping enough. But, as day goes on I feel myself quite vigorous. I can't skip some negative effects, that I began to notice recently. Sometimes I feel myself a little bit nervous and distracted. In some cases I can't be concentrated for a long period of time, and stay focused too long on fullfilling important tasks. As a result, I am thinking about reconsidering my sleeping shedule and completely improve my relaxation time.

What are your sleeping time? Do you hold to a strict standard of 8 hours sleeping?

Early to bed,

Early to rise,

Keeps a man/woman healthy,

Wealthy, and wise.

I am quite an odd person. I can last for an entire day without sleeping and then I would end up sleeping for 12 days. My body would catch up every time I would lack sleep or not sleep at all. I eat healthy food everyday so my mind is always alert and I have a difficult time relaxing and sleeping because I can't stop thinking of many things. I'm not (necessarily) a worrier but since my brain is so active, I can't help but daydream and come up with ideas and still study languages at unholy hours. I only sleep whenever I'm absolutely sleepy. Thank God I have the luxury to sleep anytime I want because I work from home and I'm an entrepreneur

Sleeping soundly seems to get more difficult as the years go by. Diet definitely can impact the quality of sleep. If I want any chance of sleeping soundly, I have to stop eating after 3pm.  I wonder if you are consuming too much caffeine? As for the number of hours needed for sleep, this varies greatly. A very great American athlete, Herschel Walker gets by with about 5 hours of sleep, while one of our former presidents, Coolidge, slept about 12 hours a day.
