Is this English natural sounding?


"He spends his days of wine and women at night time while he sails under false colours when he works in public at daytime"

This is the literary expression for a two-faced man.
could you check if this is natural English, and please advise if there is other expression for this sentence!

"He spends his days" would not refer to nighttime in this context.

Perhaps:

His nights are spent with wine and women while he sails under false colours in public during the day.

That would sound more natural but not necessarily elegant. I would be interested what others suggest too.
