Suggestions for practicising "advanced" grammar? Hi all,

I am studying for DELE B2 where more advanced grammar is expected, ie you should be able to fluently use the subjunctive, past present etc.

Does anyone have any ideas for natural ways to practice this? I'm not a huge fan of writing out verb tables and would prefer conversations that encourage the use of more complex grammatical structures.

Any suggestions?

Hi all, I obviously worded my post really badly. What i mean to say was, as Ernest has suggested, what questions / conversation points encourage the use of the subjuctive (or other complex grammar).

1. Have your Spanish tutor ask your questions where you are forced to respond in the subjunctive. (For example, "what would you do if...?" "How did you feel when...?" "Do you doubt that...?")

2. Practicing writing where you are forced to use more complex structures, have a native speaker correct your writing, then review the correction and  practicing writing and reading out loud the correct sentences.

3. Talk to yourself where you ask yourself and answer questions that require more complex grammar.

Try a dictation exercise with one of the stories from

I've found that writing down exactly what you hear is a good exercise for: Grammar, vocabulary, and ear training.

Hi Katty,
A good way for practising grammar is answering the full question whenever someone asks you something.
For example "Crees que Álvaro hubiese estudiado si hubiera tenido dinero? -No, no creo que Álvaro hubiese estudiado si hubiese tenido dinero?"
It's silly and you won't look very clever but it works. Actually this way you transform your passive language (what you understand) into active language (what you use), which is one of the most difficult things to do when learning a new tongue.
All the best,
Un saludo

How are you preparing the exam? I have a book in pdf + audios for DELE B2 exam preparation. I could send it to you if you think it could help you.
