A question for polyglots : What's best time to start the third one? Is there any threshold ?

Hi , I'm wondering what's best time to start new language?

Is it good practice to learn them simultaneously  ? Or put the previous one on the backburner( because maybe they muddle up )

or you'd do  it after you hit certain threshold ? Like : After get to the Advance level or 10,000 words or ...

1. you get frustrated because of a language, as me for English

2. you have just moved to a country and you like its people, culture and eventually your wife is local

3. just for fun, every 5 years... if you are not in immersion

4. no matter when, if you have motivation

Hi! I like your question. I think, there are no specific rules, only how do you feel. To my mind, it's always wonderful to be surrounded by people who speak other languages and you are in. The ability to overcome a conversational barrier may be due to a certain brain region. Rules such as learning 10,000 words only limit your horizon and do not accelerate the adaptation of the brain in a natural way. Good luck :)
