I recommend that you find them through the "language partners" search function, and send them some captivating messages talking about why you are a cool person to talk to, what you love about Italian / American culture, what topics you would like to practice with them (travel, food, history, technology, fashion, fitness, etc), and your whatsapp number.  Make yourself interesting, and make it easy for them to contact you.
