The negative impact of Fast Fashion

When you check your wardrobe, how many H& M, Zara, Forever 21, Gap clothes do you have? Most importantly, do you wear them often? A lot of people often buy clothes they rarely wear because companies stimulate the desire of people to wear more disposable clothes. To make it even worse, online shops make transactions even easier and cheaper. In China, people spend a lot of money on Double 11 or also known as singles day, as prices of goods are quite low. It is the equivalent of Black Friday sale in America.

There is an overproduction of clothes despite the fact that consumers buy clothes they do not need. The excess clothes end up in a landfill. In my own little way, I try to avoid shopping for clothes I would not need or I personally donate clothing to charity, instead of throwing clothes away. Fast fashion is cheap and so it is easy for people to buy.

What is your opinion about fast fashion and its environmental effects?

How can you reduce your fast fashion choices?
